The Walshes Partnership was established in July 2010 when local organisations and residents met to discuss the priorities for the Walshes neighbourhood. The Walshes Partnership was officially launched at the Wacky Walshes event on 29th October 2010.
The local partners include; Walshes Residents, Wyre Forest Community Housing, Wyre Forest District Council, Half Crown Wood Children’s Centre, St. Bartholomew’s Primary School, Walshes Tenant Consultative Committee, West Mercia Police, YMCA, Local Churches, Hereford and Worcester Fire & Rescue Service and Worcestershire County Council. The Partnership meets 4 times per year and aims to find solutions to some of the common problems that affect neighbourhoods like ours. The Partnership is led by Rev. Mark Turner.
Since July 2010 the Partnership has held several free community events, established a community newsletter that is distributed to all the homes within the Walshes neighbourhood, provided funding for the Walshes Youth Club , set up an active residents group and has secured the ongoing use of the Community Centre for another 12 months.
The Walshes Community Partnership is supported by Vestia Community Trust who work with local people, community leaders and partners to improve the lives of families and communities living in Wyre Forest and surrounding areas.
